osh hand-crafts all his frames in his Middletown Springs, Vermont workshop. Axelrod’s framing inspiration came while working with a brilliant Shenandoah Architect. They used ancient salvaged materials from old mills, warehouses, churches and homes, and with time, brought these materials back to life. After working with such textures and varieties of woods full of character and life, Josh knew he would continue using such materials for years to come.
Axelrod now mostly builds frames from locally harvested woods and has several lines available. Each frame still has its unique grain and pattern and is built specially to order. Josh’s salvaged wood frames are still available as well.
